The IPA 2022 Multi-Beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme continues to deliver tangible results in supporting the development of modern, harmonised statistical systems across the Western Balkans and Türkiye.
Over recent months, the programme has successfully implemented a broad range of capacity-building activities, including study visits, workshops, specialised training courses and traineeships. These activities have strengthened cooperation between Eurostat, EU and EFTA national statistical institutes, and partner country institutions, fostering the exchange of knowledge, expertise and good practices.
Key activities covered topics such as regional accounts, energy statistics, quality management, transport statistics and advanced statistical methodologies, providing participants with practical tools to further align their statistical systems with the European Statistical System (ESS). In parallel, the third round of traineeships enabled experienced statisticians from partner countries to gain valuable hands-on experience within Eurostat and leading European statistical institutions, further enhancing technical expertise and professional networks.
The programme also continues to support strategic dialogue on international statistical cooperation, contributing to discussions on future cooperation frameworks, capacity development and sustainable institutional partnerships.
Beyond technical assistance, IPA 2022 promotes long-term institutional development by strengthening methodological capacities, improving data quality and encouraging closer collaboration between statistical authorities across Europe. Through these efforts, the programme remains an important contributor to the gradual integration of partner countries into the European Statistical System and to the production of high-quality official statistics that support evidence-based policymaking.
