A brief review of the debate on statistics in Africa

ICON gives answers to “Facts and Biases” and published an article in the RURAL21 – The International Journal of Rural Development. Against the background of food security strategies, over the past two decades, there has been a lively international debate on the quality of the statistical data in sub-Saharan Africa. Whereas there is general agreement that data availability is insufficient, explanations of the reasons for this diverge considerably.
