PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of the EU-funded PES Benchlearning (BL) cycle, VDAB (Flemish Public Employment Service) has been selected for an official external performance assessment, in accordance with the agreement between DG EMPL and the three regional Belgian PES – VDAB, le FOREM (Wallonia), and ACTIRIS (Brussels).

ICON-INSTITUT implemented the 'benchlearning' concept – an evidence-based approach that combines quantitative and qualitative benchmarking, mutual learning, and support in adopting good practices across the European PES Network. ICON-INSTITUT assessed the external assessment of VDAB including an individual online visit, during which the VDAB self-assessment and supporting documents were reviewed and discussed with VDAB staff. A detailed external assessment report was produced, evaluating institutional changes and improvements made by VDAB. The report also provided tailored recommendations for further enhancing performance in line with the Benchlearning methodology.
