PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of the European Statistical Training Programme – Phase IV (ESTP IV), extensive efforts were made to develop, organize, and deliver training courses that equip statisticians within the European Statistical System (ESS) with cutting-edge methodologies and tools.

The project focused on developing knowledge and skills in modern data technologies, tools, and methodologies essential for official statistics. It covered the use of Big Data and relevant tools, the application of Blockchain technology beyond cryptocurrencies to support secure, decentralized data ecosystems, and the principles of Enterprise Architecture (EA) for statistical systems. Participants enhanced their understanding of Open Data, Linked Open Data (LOD), Open Source solutions, and methods for accessing and using Privately Held Data. The project also provided practical training in web data collection techniques for Online Job Advertisements (OJA), Census methodologies, seasonal adjustment using JDemetra+, and best practices in Output Checking and Statistical Disclosure Control (SDC) to ensure data confidentiality and safe dissemination of statistical outputs. Through webinars, practical case studies, and hands-on sessions, the project contributed to building capacities across the European Statistical System in innovative data management and protection practices.
