Sustainability in Textile Supply Chains

Sustainability in Textile Supply Chains

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Since 2017 ICON-INSTITUT and Global Sustainable Management (GSM) are supporting the Textile Alliance in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the review process. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Sector Project ‘Sustainability in Textile Supply Chains’ of the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) provides the secretariat of the Alliance for Sustainable Textiles. Through the support of ICON/GSM the members of the alliance are trained to document their contribution and progress in pursuing the common goal of improving social, ecological and economic sustainability along the entire textile supply chain. This is done within the framework of the so-called review process. Currently additional external trainers are advised in technical and methodological support during the review process (Train-the-Trainer approach).
