ICON-INSTITUT is implementing, since December 2023, a project financed by the European Union through the EU Delegation to Nigeria entitled “Establishment of the Nigerian National Contact Point Network for Horizon Europe and ERASMUS+”. This project aims to kick-start the establishment of a Nigerian National Contact Point (NCP) in the context of the EU’s research and education programmes Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
We are pleased to announce that the remote workshops for Nigerian higher education institutions, as a training on Erasmus+, guided by ICON-INSTITUT, have been held successfully during December 2025 and January 2026 on Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), Jean Monnet Actions (JMA) and Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM). Those Info-Days and Workshops gave Nigerian higher education institutions, scholars, academic administrators, project teams, students, and policymakers the chance to learn how to shape proposals that stand out.
With the following sessions, institutional leaders were encouraged to support participation and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in international scholarship:
- Understanding CBHE, JMA and EMJM calls and requirements
- Designing competitive project concepts
- Consortium building
- Impact and budget planning
- Using the EU Funding and Tenders Portal
- Conducting relevance and needs analyses
- Designing and implementing project concepts
