Employment Promotion Lebanon (EPL) – Deliver Business Development Services (BDS) for MSMEs

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The BMZ has tasked GIZ with implementing the "Employment Promotion Lebanon (EPL)" project, aiming to enhance job prospects for young Lebanese adults, women, and individuals with disabilities in selected regions. Operating since February 2022 and running until September 2024, the project targets the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Governorates. Its objectives include identifying employment opportunities, enhancing employability, and boosting the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

A specific intervention within the EPL project, "Deliver Business Development Services (BDS) for MSMEs," contributes to enhancing competitiveness and employment conditions within MSMEs through Business Development Service (BDS) measures.

This intervention implemented by ICON collaborates with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA). Divided into four work packages, it includes designing and implementing tailored BDS for MSMEs, assessing HR capacities, conducting energy audits, and overseeing general project tasks. Through these efforts, the project seeks to achieve its overarching objective of improving competitiveness and employment opportunities and conditions for its target groups in Lebanon's pilot regions.
