Entrepreneurship Promotion in Selected Jordan Governorates

Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment in Jordan (E4DE) – Entrepreneurship Promotion in Selected Jordan Governorates

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The 'Entrepreneurship Promotion in Selected Jordanian Governorates' initiative, part of Output 3 in the GIZ-implemented E4DE program, is funded by the BMZ and the EU. Output 3 focuses on unlocking entrepreneurial potential in Aqaba, Karak, Mafraq, and Jerash, fostering innovative business ideas and enhancing existing ventures with a focus on green initiatives, digital technologies, and women-led enterprises. The project prioritizes women-led startups and supports pilot projects with regional scaling potential. This comprehensive project has three core work packages:

WP1: Development and testing of pilot mechanisms for ideation across various sectors, emphasizing green, social, and women-led businesses, including marginalized groups like refugees and individuals with disabilities.

WP2: Establishment of support programs, including incubation and acceleration initiatives, in the selected Governorates. These programs, featuring events like hackathons, guide startups and connect them with resources.

WP3: Creation of synergies between startups and established SMEs/corporates through the 'Corporate-Start-up Partnership Approach.' This involves identifying scalable projects, coordinating support measures, and fostering inclusive business models, strengthening the private sector's role in supporting startups. Regional stakeholders receive guidance on enhancing private sector engagement throughout the process.
