PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aimed to enhance CARICOM's agricultural sector by developing a Community Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Implementation Plan. It supported Member States in improving their agricultural policy formulation, planning, and monitoring processes, ensuring alignment with national, regional, and international goals.

ICON-INSTITUT conducted a review of agricultural policies across Member States, resulting in an updated matrix and the creation of a CAP aligned with global trade agreements and the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas. An implementation plan was developed to guide agricultural development and resource mobilization.

The project also provided capacity-building support, helping Member States update their national agricultural policies. Finally, it delivered training to agricultural policy analysts in the region, ensuring effective application of the policies and plans developed.
