PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aimed to help CARIFORUM member states promote sustainable development through international trade, in line with their environmental commitments under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

ICON-INSTITUT conducted a needs assessment to identify the specific requirements of member states for achieving EPA environmental goals. A survey of existing support activities, including those funded by the European Community or other donors, ensured the new programme complemented ongoing efforts. Based on these findings, a coherent programme was developed, outlining specific projects needed to meet EPA commitments. Finally, a funding proposal was drafted after consultations with CARIFORUM states to secure resources for implementing the identified initiatives.
