As part of the German Ministry of Economics and Technology's Export Initiative for Renewable Energy, ICON-INSTITUT was awarded by the Bundesamt für Wirtschaft und Ausfuhrkontrolle to conduct studies on financing opportunities for commercial enterprises in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors across nine countries. These studies were supported by seven business trips, enabling direct engagement with local markets.
The German Government also launched the “German Chamber of Commerce Business Travel Programme,” aimed at assisting export-oriented companies in the renewable energy sector. The programme facilitated knowledge sharing about new markets and provided networking opportunities through conferences and meetings with local professionals. The primary objective of the project was to support German companies by offering advice on financing challenges related to their planned ventures, including projects, export of goods, and factory planning, in selected foreign markets. The project resulted in the completion of a comprehensive analysis of financing opportunities and international financing institutions, alongside country-specific studies on financing options for German companies in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. These findings were presented during conferences held in the target countries, where German companies had the opportunity to network with local professionals and explore potential collaborations. Additionally, the project provided initial advisory services to participating companies and followed up on their financing queries after the business trips. Through these efforts, the initiative significantly supported German companies in overcoming financing challenges in foreign markets, enabling them to expand their operations in the global renewable energy sector.
