PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Financed by the European Union and commissioned by Eurostat, this project supports the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) in improving its institutional environment, enhancing its capacity to produce high-quality statistical data, and ensuring compliance with EU standards. The project aligns with the Joint Official Statistics Greece Action Plan (JOSGAP), with a particular focus on strengthening national accounts and government finance statistics.

ICON is providing project management assistance and expert consultancy to facilitate ELSTAT’s development. The key output is the formulation of a coherent work program, translating ELSTAT’s priorities into expert missions and actionable terms of reference while ensuring full alignment with JOSGAP objectives. Regular reporting and follow-up ensure Eurostat is informed of progress and any challenges encountered. ICON is responsible for:

- Supporting ELSTAT in implementing a structured work program for statistical development.

- Managing and coordinating consultancy missions across various statistical domains.

- Providing technical expertise to improve national accounts and public finance statistics, ensuring alignment with EU regulations.

- Selecting experienced experts in close cooperation with ELSTAT and Eurostat.
