Local Communities – Health and Adult Literacy, Lot 2

Empowerment and Capacity Building of Local Communities in Planning and Monitoring of Development Plans, Health and Adult Literacy, Lot 2

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The ECOSORN project aims to reduce poverty by increasing household income through improved agricultural production, targeting rural communities in three north-west provinces of Cambodia. It focuses on equitable economic and social development for both men and women, with smallholder farmers and their families as the main beneficiaries.

ICON-INSTITUT conducted the capacity building measures in commune councils (especially for women) to plan and implement development initiatives, strengthening local human resources, and providing village-level support for managing organizations. The project also emphasizes health education and awareness on hygiene, maternal health, nutrition, and disease prevention. Lot 2 specifically focuses on health education training, covering hygiene, maternal care, nutrition, and reproductive health, aiming to improve health outcomes and empower communities for long-term development.
