Capacity for Nutrition (C4N)

Capacity for Nutrition (C4N), part of Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N) Program

The Joint-Donor Action Capacity for Nutrition (C4N), implemented by GIZ, supports the European Commission and the European Union Delegations in building nutrition-related programs and policies increasingly on evidence-based approaches and strategies.

The project contributes to achieving the C4N objectives and outputs by supporting C4N Advisory with the integration of micronutrient deficiency reduction interventions into the programme. This project provides close collaboration between the expert, the C4N team in general and the C4N focal point for micronutrients specifically. This includes an in-depth analysis of existing documents to develop lessons learnt and advise to the EU and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Secondly, consultancy services to BMZ, the Directorate General for International Partnerships of the EU (INTPA), and EUDs on approaches to micronutrient deficiencies reduction and food fortification projects. Further, conceptualisation of gender-sensitive capacity development products; and tasks of communication, visibility and outreach activities including gender-sensitive inputs for C4N newsletter “NutritionFlash” and contribution to C4N progress report.
