PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Central Asian labour market is characterised by high youth unemployment, insufficient quality of education and a lack of labour market orientation of the dual system of secondary and tertiary vocational education and training. In this context the project “Implementation of practice-oriented professional education at selected HE and TVET institutions” which is part of the overall GIZ programme "Professional Education for Economic Growth Sectors in Central Asia 5" (PECA) aims to promote reforms of the regulatory framework for secondary vocational and higher education as well as the introduction of qualifications at various levels in the areas of food processing and logistics. The political partners are the ministries of education and science of the four Central Asian partner countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Implementing partners are universities and vocational schools in each country as well as partnership institutions in Germany and the European Union.
