Central project evaluation for GIZ of the project “Internship Programme of the German Business for the Western Balkans" (The Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme): The programme initially focused on advanced training of Serbian students. Since 2007, it has been continuously expanded beyond national borders and offers today annually up to 75 well-educated and highly motivated young professionals from the seven programme countries - Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia – the opportunity to gain practical experience through three to six months internships in German companies in Germany. The aim of the programme is to give the interns an insight into market economy and corporate culture in Germany and to build up a network of regional and global contacts. Over the past 15 years, the Internship Programme has developed into a regional programme covering education, economic development and regional reconciliation.
In a joint initiative, the German Eastern Business Association, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development are supporting the economic transformation of the region and the establishment of a regional network of well- educated young talents.
