Plausibility Check of Member Roadmaps & Progress Reports in the BnT

Carrying out the Plausibility Check of the Member Roadmaps and Progress Reports in the BnT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

ICON-INSTITUT together with Global Sustainable Management (GSM) supported in the second phase the German Alliance for Sustainable Textiles / Bündniss für Nachhaltige Textilien (BnT), financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The BnT had at that time about 150 members from companies, associations, trade unions, non-governmental organisations, federal ministries, standard organisations, advisory members and aimed to continuously improve the social, ecological and economic sustainability along the entire textile value chain.

To commit to their individual responsibility for sustainability in their supply chains all members continued the development of a yearly roadmap including different sustainability goals to effectively prevent and mitigate the most serious risks. ICON/GSM implemented successfully with its inhouse experts the whole review process, reviewed formally and qualitatively the member’s roadmaps for the upcoming year and monitored the progress compared to their goals of the previous year. The ICON/GSM team analysed the member’s compliance with the procedural and content requirements of the Textile Alliance and advised them in setting and reaching relevant goals. Additionally, the review process was further developed and optimised by ICON/GSM.
