PROJECT WAS RUNNING IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES

Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The assessment focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the Caribbean Development Bank's Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) for the period 2004-2009, in light of the bank's increased emphasis on reducing poverty and promoting pro-poor growth.

ICON-INSTITUT conducted an evaluation aiming to determine how well the PRS had been implemented and whether it had achieved, or was on track to achieve, the intended outcomes based on predefined monitoring indicators. Additionally, the assessment sought to uncover key strategic, policy, programmatic, and operational lessons that could inform future initiatives. Moreover, the evaluation provided recommendations for improving the PRS to enhance its overall effectiveness, efficiency, and relevance. It also reviewed the policy framework and suggested necessary updates to the monitoring and evaluation system to ensure the strategy remained responsive and impactful in addressing poverty reduction.
