PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Training is an important component of human resources development. Today, trainers must learn new skills and develop new capabilities, they need skills to conduct a training session effectively and evaluate their training critically and require special knowledge on modern, interactive methods. Training of TVET Trainers is a core field of activity, to tackle the TVET system’s weakness in Sierra Leone and support demand-oriented skills development.

In the framework of a Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP), between the Sierra Rutile Ltd. Jackson and Devon Anderson Technical Institute (JADA) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, ICON-INSTITUT GmbH conducts Training of Trainers in selected occupational areas at JADA. A focus of the ToT measure is practical training. JADA trainers improve their training skills, are introduced to new participatory training methods and practice the approaches learned. They prepare training sessions using different training approaches, develop training materials and evaluate the training. Thus, the capacities of trainers at the JADA Technical Institute are strengthened to support the demand-oriented skills development and employability of graduates.
