Central Project Evaluation of the Project “Youth Employment and Vocational Education and Training in Kenya”
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kenya is one of sub-Saharan Africa’s top five economies. The growth rate has averaged 5% over the last 10 years. Despite economic growth, the country does not create sufficient employment for its growing young population.
The shortage of adequately skilled professionals is primarily due to Kenya’s vocational education and training system.
Greater private sector involvement in designing and implementing vocational education is a key element of Kenya’s vocational education reform which intends to facilitate access, enhance quality, and increase the relevance of vocational education.
ICON INSTITUT is through evaluation of empirical social research and through contribution of analysis and efficiency analysis sought to improve the vocational education and training system. By this, ICON-INSTITUT is contributing to reduce unemployment of young population in Kenya.
