PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aimed to assist the Tajik government in improving the design, management, and effectiveness of social protection policies in line with the National Development and Poverty Reduction Strategies. It also focused on strengthening public finance management in the social protection sector and phasing out the Food Security Budgetary Support Programme, replacing it with a Sector Budget Support Programme.

Key results included a comprehensive review of the implementation of the Sector Policy Support Programme in Social Protection (2007-2009), assessing the fulfillment of conditions in the Performance Assessment Framework, and providing recommendations to the EU Delegation for the disbursement of the second variable instalment to the Tajik government.
