TVET Occupational Analysis and Curriculum Development
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
ICON implemented within the framework of the GIZ Employment Promotion Programme III the activity ‘TVET Occupational Analysis and Curriculum Development’. The goal of the project was to align TVET Curricula with the demands of the labour market, and to provide trainees with competitive and strong knowledge-based, technology-led and demand-driven competencies to improve their employability and to open up a wide range of career pathways for them. ICON conducted a labour market assessment in consultation with public and private sector stakeholders and developed occupational competency profiles for six selected training courses (Automotive Technology, Electrical & Solar PV Technology, HVAC - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning -, Building & Construction Technology, Animal Husbandry & Production, Agro-Processing Technology) employing the DACUM approach. Furthermore a competency-based curricula at National Technical Certificate training level has been developed. To equip the target TVET Training Centres accordingly, the Centres have been assessed and based on the results an appropriate Standard Training Equipment Lists (STELs) and Training Workshop Specifications (TWSs) have been provided.
